Quick disclosure up front: I run Monosounds, so every pack on this list is ours. I’m not pretending this is a neutral review site. What I can promise is real specs, real audio demos, and honest notes on what each pack is actually good for.
Ableton Live is still my go-to DAW for getting ideas down fast. The stock library is fine, but it’s the same library every other Live user has. Good third-party samples are the cheapest way to stop sounding like a factory preset.
I first wrote this roundup a few years ago. In July 2026 I went back through it, cut the packs we’ve retired, fixed the specs, and re-checked every download. Everything below is still on sale and still holds up.
One note before the list. Several of these packs include Xfer Serum presets. Serum 2 shipped in March 2025 as a free upgrade for Serum 1 owners, and it’s a big one: 3 oscillators, 5 synthesis engines including granular and spectral, new FX buses, and a built-in sequencer. What actually matters in an Ableton sample pack
Before you buy any pack – ours or anyone else’s – check it against this short list. It’ll save you money.
- Royalty-free license. You should be able to release a track commercially without clearing anything. All Monosounds packs are 100% royalty-free.
- Key and BPM in the filenames. Live reads tempo from the name and warps loops automatically. A pack without tagged files wastes your time every session.
- One-shots, not just loops. Loops are inspiration; one-shots are building blocks. A good pack gives you both so you can build your own Drum Racks.
- MIDI files included. A melody loop locks you into one sound. The same melody as MIDI lets you swap the instrument, change notes, and make it yours.
- Sounds you’d actually use. 5,000 mediocre samples are worth less than 300 good ones. Listen to the demos before buying, always.
Titanium – Hip-Hop & Trap Sample Pack
Titanium is the biggest hip-hop pack we make, and the one I’d pick if you only buy one thing from this list. It covers the whole beat: drums, melodies, basses, and FX, all tagged with key and BPM.

My favorite workflow in Live: drag 16 one-shots into a Drum Rack, pick one melody loop, and slice a second one to MIDI with Simpler. That’s a beat skeleton in under ten minutes. The stems on the drum loops mean you can keep the groove but swap the snare you don’t like.

FISHLAKE Vol.1 – Tech House Sample Pack & Serum 2 Presets
Tech house lives and dies on the bassline, so that’s where this pack puts its weight. The 56 Serum presets are mostly basses and stabs with macros already mapped – filter, drive, width – so you can automate them straight from Live’s device view.
What’s inside:
- 50 full drum loops plus 50 top-line loops (hats and percs only, for layering over your own kick)

Go2 – Premium Beatmaking Sample Pack
Go2 is aimed at trap and drill producers. The standout content is the brass: 23 recorded brass melodies plus 50 brass MIDI loops, which is a sound you hear all over drill and almost never get in generic packs.
What’s inside:
- 140 drum one-shots, including 40 tuned 808s
- 23 brass melodies and 30 flute melodies
- 40 MIDI trap and drill chord progressions plus 50 brass MIDI loops
- 10 Serum keys presets for trap and drill
The 808s are tuned and labeled by note, so drop them in Simpler, set warp off and transpose to taste. If your 808s always sound muddy, start there – most muddiness is two untuned low-end sources fighting.

This one is a bundle: ten packs in a single download, built for slap house and deep house in the Imanbek, Alok and Dynoro lane. Over 200 chord and melody ideas, deep punchy kicks, and Serum bass patches with the pluck-slide character that defines the genre.
It’s the best value-per-dollar item in our store if house is your thing. Most producers buy one deep house kit for $30; this is ten kits for not much more.

Magnetic – Lo-Fi Sample Pack
Most lo-fi packs are clean samples with a bitcrusher slapped on. Magnetic is processed the slow way: every sound ran through a real cassette deck and a vintage mixer. The wobble and hiss are baked in, which means you don’t need to stack five emulation plugins to get the texture.
That took us about three months of recording and re-recording, and it’s why this pack still sells years later. Drop a melody in, add drums, and the track already sounds finished.

Evoque is small and focused: 58 drum loops tagged by BPM and genre, 10 melody loops, and 25 MIDI files. No filler.
I use it as a groove starter. Pull a drum loop into a scene, jam chords over it, then replace the loop with your own drums once the idea works. At the price, it earns its keep the first time it unblocks a session.

How I load sample packs into Ableton Live
A few habits that make any pack more useful in Live:
- Add the pack folder to Places. Drag the unzipped folder into the Places section of Live’s browser. Now every sound is searchable without leaving the DAW.
- Set sensible warp defaults. In Preferences under Record/Warp/Launch, I keep auto-warp on. Then use Beats mode for drum loops and Complex Pro for melodic loops – plain Complex smears transients.
- Build Drum Racks from one-shots once. Spend 20 minutes making three or four Drum Racks from a new pack and save them as presets. Future sessions start instantly.
- Use hot-swap to audition. Press Q on a Simpler or Drum Rack pad and arrow through samples in the browser while the beat plays. Fastest way to find the right snare.
- Slice loops you half-like. Right-click a melody loop and choose Slice to New MIDI Track. Rearranging someone else’s melody into your own is where sample packs stop being crutches and start being instruments.
FAQ: Ableton sample packs
Are these sample packs royalty-free?
Yes. Everything from Monosounds is 100% royalty-free. You can use the sounds in commercial releases, streams, and client work without any extra license. The only thing you can’t do is resell the samples as-is.
Do sample packs work in Ableton Live Intro and Lite?
Yes. WAV samples and MIDI files load in every edition of Live, including Lite. The only caveat: packs that include Serum presets need Serum 2 installed, so your edition of Live has to support plugins – Intro and Lite both do.
How do I add a sample pack to Ableton’s browser?
Unzip the pack, then drag the folder into the Places section on the left side of Live’s browser. Live indexes it and everything becomes searchable and hot-swappable. Keep all your packs in one parent folder so backups are easy.
Do I need Serum to use these packs?
Only for the preset portion of packs like FISHLAKE and Go2 – the WAV loops and one-shots work everywhere. If you own Serum 1, the Serum 2 update is free, and it opens up granular and spectral engines that Serum 1 never had. Not sure it’s worth switching? I compared them in Serum 1 vs Serum 2.
