What changed since 2024
The big one: March 2025 brought Serum 2, free for anyone who owned Serum 1. Three oscillators where there were two, five engines including granular and spectral, fresh FX buses and a sequencer built right in. And every Serum preset pack listed here opens in Serum 2 with zero conversion, since it reads Serum 1 presets natively.

How to shop Black Friday without wasting money
Years of watching producers buy during our sales taught me what actually works:
- Make a wishlist in October. A pack that bored you at full price doesn’t become useful at 50% off. A discount should confirm a decision you already made, not manufacture one.
- Do the per-sound math. $17 for 50 presets means 34 cents each. Compare that number between shops, not the percentage on the banner.
- Check the format first. Serum packs want Serum 2 (or Serum 1); Vital packs want Vital. Obvious, sure, yet format mismatch is the number one reason we issue refunds.

- One genre pack, one utility pack. A bank for your main style plus something universal (MIDI, drums, one-shots) will beat five impulse purchases in genres you’ll never touch.

When do Black Friday music production sales start?
These days most audio shops kick off in mid-November and keep going through Cyber Monday. Some plugin companies stretch the sale across the entire month. Ours typically goes live around a week ahead of the Friday itself.
Are Black Friday plugin and preset deals actually worth it?
Yes, provided you shop from a list you wrote beforehand. The discounts in audio are genuine, with 30–70% being normal, because sound products cost nothing per unit to reproduce. The danger isn’t fake markdowns; it’s filling a hard drive with things you’ll never open.
Do Serum 1 preset packs work in Serum 2?
