Free Serum 2 Presets: 271 Patches (Producer Starter Collection)

271 Serum presets in 14 folders, .fxp format for Serum 2 and Serum 1, free — the checkout asks only for an email, no card.

Updated October 2026

This is our biggest free download. Basses, leads, keys, pianos, plucks, atmospheres, bells, chords, 808s, guitars, cowbells, arps, synths and pads, in any DAW that runs Serum. Check out at $0 with your email and the download starts right away.

We put it together as a full working library, not a teaser. You can write a whole track from it.

What’s in the 271 presets

The folder names match what you see in Serum’s browser, so you can go straight to the sound you need.

• Bass (95). The biggest folder. Reeses, growls, plucky house basses, subs and FM-ish grit. Try “Akrapovic”, “Absolute Zero” or “2022 Award Bass” first.
• Leads (45). Wide supersaws, mono hooks, acid-flavoured lines (“Anti-acid”), big-room leads (“Big House”).
• Keys (36). Synth keys, piano-style keys and bell-like keys for pop, RnB and house: “Beach Side Piano”, “Cosmos”, “Dance Machine”.
• Atmospheres (14). Dark drones and moving pads for intros and breakdowns: “Ghost Factory”, “Elven Choir”, “Industria”.
• Plucks (11). Short, bright and snappy, for toplines and arps that leave room for a vocal.
• Guitars (11). Plucked and muted synth-guitar patches for pop, reggaeton and chill beats.
• 808s (10). Clean, distorted and punchy 808s for trap, drill and hip hop.
• Bells (10), Chords (10), Piano (10). Melodic bells, one-key chord stabs for house and garage, and pianos that sit well in a mix.
• Cowbells (8), Arps (5), Synths (4), Pads (2). The smaller folders: tuned cowbells for phonk and Latin grooves, tempo-synced arps, and a few all-rounders.

Which genres it covers

It isn’t built around one genre. It’s a starter library. The basses and leads lean toward house, tech house, bass house, EDM and dubstep. The 808s, cowbells and guitars cover trap, phonk and hip hop. Keys, piano, bells and chords work for pop, RnB, future bass and melodic house. If you want sounds for one genre only, scroll down: we also have smaller free packs for techno, house, afro house, hardstyle, trap and more, each with its own demos.

Serum 2 and Serum 1

The presets are .fxp files, the classic Serum format. Serum 2 opens them natively, and they also work in the original Serum. So the pack is useful whichever version you run. If you still have Serum 1, the upgrade to Serum 2 is free for existing owners, and these presets carry over.

Most free Serum packs out there are 6–34 presets; this one is 271.

How to install

1. Unzip the download. You’ll get one folder, “Monosounds – Producer Starter Collection”, with 14 subfolders inside.
2. Copy that folder into your Serum presets folder (in Serum 2, the User folder in the preset browser). Not sure where it is? Here is the Serum 2 preset folder location on Mac and Windows.
3. In Serum, open the preset browser and hit rescan. The pack shows up with its folders intact.

If Serum 2 doesn’t show up in your DAW at all, start with this fix for Ableton, FL Studio and Logic.

License

100% royalty-free. Use the sounds in releases, beats you sell, client work, streams and sync. No credit needed. The one thing you can’t do is resell or re-share the preset files themselves as a preset pack.

What people ask before downloading

Is it really free? Yes. The price is $0 and checkout asks only for your email, no card, so we can send the download link and keep it in your account for re-downloads. We’ll email you about new free packs now and then, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
