Also in the box

50 MIDI basslines, written for these basses.

Every bassline is 8 bars in 4/4 at 130–138 BPM, in a minor or dorian key, composed against a real chord progression — the bass moves where the chords hold and holds where they move. The notes sit in C2–C3, the octave the Bass presets are built for, so nothing needs re-octaving. Key and tempo are in the file name; the chart inside lists the chords each line was written against.

  1. Load a Bass presetPut “Uk Organ Bass 1”, “UK Analog Reese 1” or “Kickin Hard” on a Serum 2 track.
  2. Drag the .mid onto itMatch your tempo to the BPM in the name to hear it as written, or keep yours — it is MIDI.
  3. Add the shuffleThe grid is straight on purpose. Put 8–16% swing on the track and the two-step skip appears.
  4. Voice the chordsThe file name gives the key, the chart gives the progression. Play it with a Chords or Keys preset from the same pack.

Named like Monosounds - Bassline - Nightbus - Bmin.mid. Velocity is played: accents on the beat, ghost notes between. Bars 4 and 8 vary so a loop never feels copied. Works in any DAW.

Tested in production, not in a bedroom

The genre’s biggest moment in 25 years. Here is the sound for it.

Speed garage hasn’t been this loud since the pirate-radio days. Right now the Beatport UK Garage / Bassline top 10 is stacked with it, and the records that get there share one thing: a low end that hits, stabs that cut, sirens that make a room turn round. We took that exact standard and built the next generation of it for Serum 2.

Every one of the 100 sounds in this pack went through a full production first — arranged, mixed, mastered, checked on club subs and on a phone. Nothing here is an init patch with a filter sweep. Use them to go for the chart. Or just load one, hold a chord, and lose an evening. Both count.

100%

Production-tested

Each preset was played in a finished track before it earned a place in the pack. If it didn’t survive a real mix, it isn’t here.

Levels, low-end tuning and stereo width sit where the charting speed garage records sit today. Drop one in and it fits without surgery.

Next

Generation, not a rehash

The ’97 DNA — organ bass, reese, dub chords, sirens — rebuilt on Serum 2’s engine with movement and weight the old racks never had.

Before you buy

Questions people ask before buying speed garage presets.

Which Serum do I need?

Xfer Serum 2, version 2.0 or newer, in any DAW that runs it — Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, Cubase, Bitwig, Studio One, Reaper. The presets do not open in Serum 1.

How do I install it?

Unzip, then double-click Install (Mac).command or Install (Windows).bat. If Serum 2 uses its standard folders, that is the whole job: two clicks, then hit refresh in the preset browser and find “Monosounds — Speed Garage Vol.1” under User. Moved your library? The installer asks you for the “Serum 2 Presets” folder and does the rest. On a Mac the first launch may need right-click → Open, because the file came from the internet.

Is anything else needed — wavetables, samples?

No. Everything each sound needs is embedded in its .SerumPreset file. Nothing extra to download, nothing to relink.

What are the MIDI basslines and how do I use them?

Fifty 8-bar bass parts, one per chord progression, with key and tempo in the file name. Drag a .mid onto a track running a Bass preset from the pack, match the BPM (or don’t — it is MIDI), add 8–16% swing for the shuffle. The notes sit in C2–C3, where the basses are built to play, and a chart inside lists the chords so you can voice stabs over the line. They work in any DAW; the installers leave them in the pack folder for you to drag from.

Are the drums in the demo included?

No — the drum channel is marked “not included” in the demo for exactly that reason. Every other channel you can mute and solo up there is a preset from this pack, played dry.

Can I use these in a track I sell?

Yes. The license is royalty-free: use the sounds in your own commercial and non-commercial releases, no credit required. The only thing you can’t do is resell or give away the presets themselves.

What does “production-tested” mean here?

Each preset was played in a full arrangement, mixed and mastered, and checked on club subs and phone speakers before it went in. The sounds on this page are the raw presets — no reverb bed, no mastering chain on top. What you hear is what loads.

How much is it, and what happens after I pay?

$29, one payment, no subscription. The download starts straight away and the files also stay in your Monosounds account, so you can grab them again on a new machine. Royalty-free for your own releases.

Something isn’t working on my side?

Write to us through the site with your DAW, OS and Serum 2 version and we sort it out. That is also why every sound is playable on this page first: you know what you are getting before you pay.

What producers say about our Serum 2 packs.

Every review on Monosounds is written by someone who actually bought or downloaded the pack. Speed Garage shipped on September 2, so its own reviews land here as verified buyers leave them; until then, here is what people wrote about the packs that came before it.

★★★★★

Maxim takes great care in making his presets. I have been happy with all of them, whether I bought them or took advantage of all of his past freebies (a lot!). Great stuff, keep up the good work.

The download was as easy as could be and the sounds are really powerful and sit in the mix perfectly. I would recommend any of these packs — everything I've used from Monosounds has been peak. 10/10.

Sound quality is excellent. I made a loop for the drop and switched it all up — when it's finished I'll gladly send you the result. Keep it going, from Belgium.
